The Log Chalet:

This recently built cabin has been beautifully hand crafted from logs cut near by on the property. It is fully insulated and very cozy in the winter, cool in the summer. It offers a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living/dining area with a glass front wood stove with backup electric heat. The large picture window and front porch presents a wonderful view of the unspoiled natural beauty of rolling hills and the Cape Breton Highlands. The bedroom downstairs has a double bed and there is a full bath with tub and shower. Upstairs there is a large open room with chalet style balcony. This room may be arranged as another bedroom, family room, dorm or for other functions. While the Log Chalet is very quiet and secluded on our 200 acre wilderness property, it’s also only 10 minutes away from the famous resort town of Baddeck. Nearby are two world class golf courses, museums, the Gaelic college, and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Along the famous Cabot Trail enjoy whale watching, puffin tours, sailing, lobster feeds, Celtic festival events and a thriving artistic community.

In fact our central location makes it ideal for day trips to any part of Cape Breton Island and then returning to the peace and quiet of your private retreat cabin.

The surrounding countryside is uninhabited with many miles of trails and abandoned roads great for hiking, mountain biking or skiing. Naturally, guests are invited to visit our family homestead (a few minutes walk from the cabin) which includes a large organic garden, a horse, goats and chickens. We also have a pond for fishing, swimming or skating.
